Father's Day

Throughout my life, you have always exhibited that doing the right thing is important, not because it is convenient, comfortable, or easy, but because it is right. You have lived your life in an honorable and honest fashion, and I have so much respect for you because of it. As you were to me, you are a great example to my daughter.

When I think of all the long work hours, the extra days, the overtime shifts you put in throughout the years in a mostly thankless job, I am very appreciative & grateful... grateful for the sacrifices you made to provide for us. Thank you.

As a father myself now, I look to your example for inspiration and guidance.

Through the years, you've held so many titles beyond Dad or Daddy. You've been a teacher, comedian, warden, auto mechanic, spider- wrangler, emergency medic, and probably more often than you would like, drywall repair man.

It is a special time in the parent/child relationship when you become friends. You did things right when I was growing up. You were my Father when I needed a Father more than a friend. I am sure that there were times that this was not easy. You could have avoided many fights and conflicts by simply being my "friend" and conceding, but instead you performed your duty as a Father and stuck to your guns. I am a better man because of it today. You are my father, you are my friend. I am proud to call you both.

Thank you for Everything, Dad. Happy Father's Day! I love you.
